Motivation...or "Second Semester Seniors '06!!!"

Which of these quotes do you most identify with and why?
  1. “I would much rather have regrets about not doing what people said, than regretting not doing what my heart led me to and wondering what life had been like if I'd just been myself.”
Brittany Renée quotes (English Author and Dancer, b.1986)
  2. “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.”
Dr. Seuss quotes (American Writer and Cartoonist best known for his collection of children's books. 1904-1991)
  3. “People who are unable to motivate themselves must be content with mediocrity, no matter how impressive their other talents.”
Andrew Carnegie quotes (Scottish born American Industrialist and Philanthropist. 1835-1919)
  4. “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
Winston Churchill quotes (British Orator, Author and Prime Minister during World War II. 1874-1965)

I dont know if I totally identify with the Dr. Seuss quote but I strive to. As I get older I have been able to think less about what others want, and more about what I want. That is not to say that I go out of my way to do the opposite of what is expected, but I have become more of my own person. For the most part I try to live my life not trying to impress others, but I dont ALWAYS say what I feel. Sometimes my opinion just isnt neccissary, and it could be hurtfull to someone. Basicly I wont go along with something that I dont agree with, but I also wont disagree just to be differnt.

I identify most with Winston Churchill's quote. He is exactly right: Everyone will fail and everyone will succeed at some point. But the only thing that matters is what you do in response. Do you get up and keep trying, or do you lay down and die? Do you keep working to repeat your success, or do you bask in the glory and relax?

Quote 1: I would relate best to this quote if it was reversed; I have always been the cautious friend in the group and have been encouraged by many to take risks and be spontaneous, reflecting back on my past I regret always being "safe"

I most identify with the Winston Chruchhill quote. You will fail and succeed throughout your life. Just because you suceed or fail you are not done with the thing. You must learn from the success and the failure. You have to have the courage to do it again despite the outcome of the first time.

I relate most to the first one. I always wonder if i'm going to regret not doing something or if i'm going to regret doing it. Regret is one of the worst feelings ever, so i try to avoid it whenever I can.

I love the quote by Churchill. Failure and succes is all a part of life. Both will happen, but you must persevere, and keep on going.

I also strive to achieve the Doctor Seuss quote. The past year in high school has been better, but in junior high and the beginning of high school, I cared way too much about what others thought of me. It has taken me a while to figure out to just be myself and let people embrace me or reject them and move on without letting those who reject me pull me down, but I'm on my way to doing just that.

I definately identify the most with the Winston Churchill quote. Everyone fails at times and succeeds at others. The person that can be motivated enough to get back up in the face of adversity will ultimately be better off. This is basically saying not to be content with failure OR success. Neither will last without the other. The best thing we can do is to prepare our hearts for failure and make the best of the situation.

I like Winston Churchill's Quote because he is the best person out of all the people who are listed. He it is also true that failure is not death.

I definitely agree with what the Dr. Seus quote says. I think by my senior year I do not care as much about what other people think. I have found a place in my life where I am content with who I am.

I identify most with the first quote by Brittany Renee. I always try to avoid regret. I think i used to do what other people said, but over the years I have realized that their is a lot less regret when you do what your heart tells you to do and not worry about what other people think about it. I think regret is one of the worst feelings in the world

I agree with Dr. Seuss because if you are not content with who you are then you will be affected by what other people say and think about you.

I agree with Winston Churchill's quote the most. All the quotes are relevant but i think his relates to me the most. Everyone will fail and everyone will succeed at some point. But the only thing that really matters is the way that you respond to the situation.

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.” is my favorite quote. I like it so much cause i am a big Dr. Seuss fan. I read Green Eggs and Ham every morning before breakfast just to get me motivated to eat. I don't think i'm anorexic i just don't find eating particularly exciting.
