Moving on

Well, we have passed the hump and are moving on towards the latter half of the first nine weeks. Don't forget some important deadlines:

Narrative 2nd draft due tomorrow!!!!
Revisions of College essay due Sunday by midnight!!!

Here is your question for today-
Who is your hero? Do you have one? Do you believe in heroes? What movies or TV shows have you seen that exemplify heroic characters?

My hero is definately my grandfather Lew Murray. Though he died last January he is still my inspiration. Born just before the depression, and living through World War II and the Cold War he worked his guts out everyday. He was a pharmacists and owned his own business. Poppa, as I called him, also had time for his family and relaxation. No matter how much older he was than me he always beat me in tennis. He also always owned a boat and would travel all over the gulf of mexico. Poppa was a deacon at Woodlawn United Methodist and worked ENDLESSLY at the food bank at the church. I would go with him during the summer and remember watching him work so hard for people too poor to get their own food. Through his work at the food ministry he brought so many people to know Christ even one time when I was right next to him. Nothing has ever touched me so much than at his funeral people gave over $1500 to the food bank in his name because they knew how much he loved it. Also knowing he is watching me and that I will see him when I die makes poppa my hero and greatest inspiration.
I think the show that has the best example of a hero is 24. Personally I do not like Jack, but i think he is a good worldly picture of a hero
