Motivation...or "Second Semester Seniors '06!!!"

Which of these quotes do you most identify with and why?
  1. “I would much rather have regrets about not doing what people said, than regretting not doing what my heart led me to and wondering what life had been like if I'd just been myself.”
Brittany Renée quotes (English Author and Dancer, b.1986)
  2. “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.”
Dr. Seuss quotes (American Writer and Cartoonist best known for his collection of children's books. 1904-1991)
  3. “People who are unable to motivate themselves must be content with mediocrity, no matter how impressive their other talents.”
Andrew Carnegie quotes (Scottish born American Industrialist and Philanthropist. 1835-1919)
  4. “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
Winston Churchill quotes (British Orator, Author and Prime Minister during World War II. 1874-1965)

I dont know if I totally identify with the Dr. Seuss quote but I strive to. As I get older I have been able to think less about what others want, and more about what I want. That is not to say that I go out of my way to do the opposite of what is expected, but I have become more of my own person. For the most part I try to live my life not trying to impress others, but I dont ALWAYS say what I feel. Sometimes my opinion just isnt neccissary, and it could be hurtfull to someone. Basicly I wont go along with something that I dont agree with, but I also wont disagree just to be differnt.

I identify most with Winston Churchill's quote. He is exactly right: Everyone will fail and everyone will succeed at some point. But the only thing that matters is what you do in response. Do you get up and keep trying, or do you lay down and die? Do you keep working to repeat your success, or do you bask in the glory and relax?

I most identify with the Dr. Seuss quote. As high school seniors, most people have become content with who they are and no one is trying to impress others by acting out of character. If people don't like who you are, then they probably don't matter.

Quote 1: I would relate best to this quote if it was reversed; I have always been the cautious friend in the group and have been encouraged by many to take risks and be spontaneous, reflecting back on my past I regret always being "safe"

I like the Dr. Suess quote the most because it reminds you of who is really important in your life.

the dr. seuss quote is definately the best. There is no time in life to be fake. Just be who you are and say what you mean.

I agree most with the Dr. Seuss quote. In Junior High I cared way too much about what others thought about me, and I strived to be the person I thought other people wanted me to be. Now I am comfortable with myself and don't need to please others to make myself happy. Those who really care about me don't need me to change to please them.

I also agree with Dr. Seuss's quote because growing up in Mtn Brook people definitely judge you and you just have to get over that and be who you want to be. You can't worry all the time about what other people think about you because you will never get anywhere in life. Even though I never really say what I feel, I believe in being who I want to be no matter what people say or think about me. see you tomorrow bcal!!!

I most identify with the Winston Chruchhill quote. You will fail and succeed throughout your life. Just because you suceed or fail you are not done with the thing. You must learn from the success and the failure. You have to have the courage to do it again despite the outcome of the first time.

I love the Dr. Seuss quote because that is one of the really vital things you should get out of high school, if not college. At the end of the day you have to be comfortable in your own skin. Comfortable enough to "be who you are and say what you feel" because if not, you'll never get anything out of life, you will only end up following others footsteps

I love Dr. Seuss. His quote reminds me we shouldnt worry about what people think and as long as we are happy with ourselves, what other poeple think doesnt matter.

I relate most to the first one. I always wonder if i'm going to regret not doing something or if i'm going to regret doing it. Regret is one of the worst feelings ever, so i try to avoid it whenever I can.

I agree most with the Dr. Seuss quote. I feel like I have embraced this idea throughout highschool and junior high. Because if I didn't I still might be the really quiet kid.

I think I identify most with Winston Churchhill's quote. In life you will succeed at times and at other times fail. Reagrdless, life continues. You cant be content with success because success will come and go and you cant give up on life when you fail because it's not the end. You must build the courage to continue on in life no matter what comes your way. Embrace every opportunity.

I love the quote by Churchill. Failure and succes is all a part of life. Both will happen, but you must persevere, and keep on going.

I also strive to achieve the Doctor Seuss quote. The past year in high school has been better, but in junior high and the beginning of high school, I cared way too much about what others thought of me. It has taken me a while to figure out to just be myself and let people embrace me or reject them and move on without letting those who reject me pull me down, but I'm on my way to doing just that.

I definately identify the most with the Winston Churchill quote. Everyone fails at times and succeeds at others. The person that can be motivated enough to get back up in the face of adversity will ultimately be better off. This is basically saying not to be content with failure OR success. Neither will last without the other. The best thing we can do is to prepare our hearts for failure and make the best of the situation.

The Dr. Seuss quote I would say I most identify with. I think I am very content of who I am who I want to be in the future.

WOW MRS. C, that is me in a nutshell. You know just as well as I do, that if i have a strong opinion about something, then I'll let ya know. I'm not saying I strive to hurt people's feelings, but I think it's important to say what you mean because like the quote says"those who mind don't matter."

Although the Dr. Seuss quote is my senior quote, but i identify the best qith quote four. Its not over till its over, and you will always need to keep going. I know that during plebe summer this july i will have to have courage to keep going.

I identify most with the Dr. Seuss quote. That explains me very well, because I speak my mind and sometimes it can be a little mean but I always say the truth and my friends have gotten used to it and know how to handle it but people that don't know me think i am coming off as mean, but i am just being honest.

I like Winston Churchill's Quote because he is the best person out of all the people who are listed. He it is also true that failure is not death.

I identify with the Dr. Suess quote. becuase i don't care what others think about me. if i did then i would not be who i am i would be who others want me to be

VirginiaB5 said...

I definitely agree with what the Dr. Seus quote says. I think by my senior year I do not care as much about what other people think. I have found a place in my life where I am content with who I am.

i think the dr. seuss quote relates the most to me right now in my life because what is done is done in high school and there is no way for me to turn back. right now i know everyone i am going to know in this high school and i dont really care what people think about me.

I identifiy with the Dr. Seuss quote. I agree with Abby that as high school seniors we pretty much are content with ourselves, but soon we will be in different places and trying to make new friends so its important that we keep this quote in our minds and be our selves.

I think that I most identify with Brittany Renee's quote because in life I think that the only person who knows what is best for you, is you. So many people rely on other people to tell them what to do or what path to take put you have to make that decision for yourself and just be yourself.

lillyb5 said...

I identify most with the first quote by Brittany Renee. I always try to avoid regret. I think i used to do what other people said, but over the years I have realized that their is a lot less regret when you do what your heart tells you to do and not worry about what other people think about it. I think regret is one of the worst feelings in the world

I agree with Dr. Seuss because if you are not content with who you are then you will be affected by what other people say and think about you.

I agree with Winston Churchill's quote the most. All the quotes are relevant but i think his relates to me the most. Everyone will fail and everyone will succeed at some point. But the only thing that really matters is the way that you respond to the situation.

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.” is my favorite quote. I like it so much cause i am a big Dr. Seuss fan. I read Green Eggs and Ham every morning before breakfast just to get me motivated to eat. I don't think i'm anorexic i just don't find eating particularly exciting.
