Reflection

“Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.”
Buddha

“The past is behind, learn from it.The future is ahead, prepare for it.The present is here, live it.”
Thomas S. Monson

What part does reflection play in personal growth? Does it play a part or is it just dwelling on the past?

Mistakes are a part of personal growth you learn from them. Life is too short not to live in the moment.

Reflection helps keep us in line. Sometimes people forget about their past or other peoples' pasts and make mistakes that could be prevented. If you forget your past, then you might repeat mistakes you made or forget the goals you have set for yourself. Relfection is an important part of moving on and growing up.

The past is something to grow on and learn from in order not to make mistakes in the future. On the other hand you cant dwell on the past but you have to look to the future.

Reflection is important because it helps us see where we have come from and help us guide ourselves to where we want to go.

I do believe that reflecting back on your life helps with your personal growth. Taking a step back and thinking about yourself helps you understand sometimes what you should do different. You can look back on your istakes and see how you would have changed them.

I think that personal reflection is very important; haven't we always been told that you learn from your mistakes? Im not saying that you should dwell on the past, becasue you should not. My mom has always taught me to learn from the past and then move on, it does no good to sit around and wonder what would have been if you had done this or that differntly. All you can do is learn from your mistakes and make better choices next time.

I think that reflection is very important. Sure there is a point when it turns to "dwelling in the past," but reflecting on the past is a great way to learn about yourself and grow.

I think that you can learn a lot from the past especially mistakes. You should learn from the experience and take that lesson with you. But it is important not to dwell constantly on the past and live your life in the present.

The past is only good to recognize the mistakes that have been made. You can see how those actions played out and what the consequences were.
