Unwritten rules

Vacations...
We have all taken vacations with our family or with friends. It may not have been to an exotic location, but anywhere but home is often enough to call it a vacation. Answer two questions:
  1. Where was your favorite vacation?
  2. Were there any family guidelines, plans, or unwritten rules regarding your time away that you can share?

Ex. 1. Gatlinburg when I was 8.

2. My mom would not allow us to sleep past 8, and I was not allowed to buy food at gas stations (we brought our own snacks in the car)

1. Perdido Key near Orange Beach, AL

2. My family loves car games. Everything from the on going lisence place games, the alphabet game, 20 questions, to the unheard of batlle ship, put on paper, game.
3. We, mostly my brother, would get pulled over to the side of the road, taken behind the car and given a spanking.....if we were really bad. I think I only got one in my childhood years, apparently, once was enough.

My favorite was my 2 week backpacking trip in 9th grade. As for rules, the whole don't hang out ith strangers rule always applies, but for the most part my parents are getting fairly lose about the childish rules.

So far my favorite vacation was when I went to Austria with all 35 beavers in tenth grade. It was the ultimate trip. There was no drinking age and so it was like a fellow beaver said "The beavers gone wild" (the beavers is 6 families combined that practly do everything together)

Ever heard the phrase, " Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt?" Well to say the slightest, our family has toured all over the world, partly due to my mom's airline benefits. I really enjoyed our family trip to Amsterdam when I was in the eighth grade. All of our sight seeing and adventures were spontaneous. My family took a canal tour, which was very insightful about the Dutch people. The red light district was the grand finale.

1. Its hard to choose a favorite trip, but last spring break my family and I went on a cruise to The Cayman Islands and Jamaica that was incredible!
2. Since we were on a ship, my parents did not give me a curfew which was pretty amazing. We went of family excursions while we were in port, but it was a lot of fun.

My favorite trip was to Canada last year. This was the first time I had ever been out of the country. Even though all of my family went it was still a lot of fun and I would definitly go back.

My favorite trips would be when i went skiing in Beaver Creak with my family or when we went to the virgin islands. Both these trips were great because the weather was perfect and i had a good time.

My most memorable vacation was when my family and I went to Alaska last summer. The ru le was that we couldn't sleep past seven. Which isn't that bad, but when it does not get dark until two in the morning it is kindof rough.

1. Trip to Dominican Republic.
2. We had to go eat breakfast every day with my grandmother and if we did that we could be free for the rest of the day, because it was torture enough to have to wake up early after we stayed up so late.

1. Our trip to Cancun two summers ago
2. No one could complain. My dad had won the trip in a charity golf tournament and since it was free no one could complain about anything that went on during the trip. It made the trip much more enjoyable

1. Turks and Caicos
2. Although the trip was mostly relaxing my Dad is always into getting the "local flavor" of every place we go. So instead of taking atvantage of our nice resort, like my sister and I wanted, my dad made us go to this local conch restraunt. The food ended up being really good and we had a lot of fun, so I guess it was ok that my dad made us go.

1. This year's spring break trip to Tirrases, Costa Rica
2. One major rule: we could not walk anywhere in the town without a native Costa Rican that we knew from the church because there was a fear of the "gringo" getting jumped if he/she was alone. I had to walk past a major drug dealing corner to get from my house to the church.

My favorite vacation with my family was our safari in east africa. The unwritten rule was not to drink the water and not to touch anything at the villages so we wouldn't get sick.

My favorite vacation was to Snowmass, Colorado, this past Spring Break. I went snowboarding for five days straight. I was there with my family, my aunt and uncle and their young kids, and my two best friends. It was the best spring break, and no body got hurt this time on the mountain.

1. When my family went to Atlantis with my entire family, on my mom's side.
2. The one "condition" was that my brother and I had to be in our room at a certain time, and if we weren't then we couldn't go out any other night.
