War.... what is it good for?

With all of the different things happening in the world, the Iraqi War, the genocide in Sudan, North Korea testing nuclear weapons, many people wonder, when is it just to go to war?

So what are your thoughts?
When is it our place to go to war?
Or more importantly, when is it our responsibility to go to war?

Though it may sound simple, a country should go to war when the people of that country are being harmed by a common enemy. In WWII German subs and Japenese pilots were attacking America and killing Americans. Though we could stand idle, the enemy was not only harming us, but slowly defeating our allies. We had a defined enemy and attacked that enemy. Unfortunately this is not the case in the wars America has been in lately. In Vietnam our enemies looked the same as our allies the only difference was their belief in the type of goverment that should rule. Same in Iraq. Though war kills innocent people it also protects the innocent and the well being of the world. I've signed up with the selective service office and will die for my country if needed. War definitely not a good thing, to me though, it is neccessary.
