All I can say is that you are keeping our lazy, "senioritis" (at risk of sounding cliche) butts in check by laying down project after project and having the ever-present Frankenstein book for the spaces inbetween.

Senior Project, come on Mrs. C. This is a little much. Each chapter has to be 2 pages! That's rediculous; you know that we are second semester seniors, and we don't care anymore.

This senior memory book project and video diary thing is kinda scary. My memories don't reach back that far. This is going to be tough. I don't even have that many pictures from when i was a kid. trust me, i don't. This is going to kill me.

First, the movie project seems like it could be really cool. The book though, not so cool. I really am not a fan of writing, but I guess its better than a research paper...kinda.

This is gonna be kind of hard, i have never had to put much thought into my childhood as i am going to have to. It should be fun though, as i will remember a lot about how i was when i was a wee-little boy. The whole love thing is going to be the most difficult, seeing as im only 17 and have not found anything remotely close to love yet. I am glad we have the option to create our dream mate, due to the reason i just previously stated.

I think that it just looks really cheesy. It might be neat looking back at everything but i bet it ends up just being a hassle. Plus, it's a lot of writing.

I am very excited about the video project. The stories kind of worry me....but they will be fantastic!! Haha, I hope I can find some cute pictures of me as a child..! haha well, thank you for making that Frankenstein quiz not incredibly hard! I am excited about getting back in the swing of things and reading my Frankenstein book!!! Yay for school!

Yeah this whole project thing is not cool. We have 7 weeks left and then we are gone, we should spend them relaxing and doing nothing. This project is like having a paper due every week until we graduate, not what I had in mind for 4th 9 weeks.

I really like the idea of the senior memory book.I think it will be a great way to remember my highschool days and reflect on my life to this point. However, this does seem like it is going to be a lot of work! I'm sure it will be worth it though in the end.

I like the idea of the scrab book of our memories but not the video. It seems like it's going to take a ton of time. Also it just seems like they are going to be really sad and depressing like a video of my life summed up. On the other hand I am a little confused on how were tying in Frankenstien and poetry.

I like the idea of reflecting back on our lives since we are about to experience a huge change, but I have to admit that I'm a little nervous about these two projects. Making the movie sounds really cool, but I don't know if my technological skills (or lack of) will really enjoy it. The book also is a good idea, but it is very overwhelming. Maybe once we start it, it will not seem so hard..?

I like the whole idea of doing a memory book for like your parents i just wish it was not a school project because i don't really want to get that personal with my teacher and peers.

Hello Mrs. Caldwell,
I was just checking in to see how your day was going. I really love what you have done with the blogspot lately. I cannot wait to start working on my Senior Memory Book Project and Video Diary. It is going to be so much fun. Why should i be worried about the project, you are such a great teacher i am sure you will teach us everything we need to know. Well Mrs. Caldwell its always a pleasure.
Love,
Elliott

p.s. I would be a whole lot nicer if you would just spell my name right.

MrsC said...

I would spell your name right if.... Ok, it was an honest mistake. People always spell my first name with a "Y".

I think that this is a good idea in theory, but I just dont know if we have as much time to do it. I looked at the calander and were turning in like 4 pages every week; I know that doesnt seem like much but to be honest with 6 weeks left of my senior year it's not exactly what I had in mind. Mabye one page per chapter would be better.

mrs. caldwell... i don't think you posted my blog from last night. It was supposed to be on the topic but it's not up. There wasn't anything wrong with it so i was wondering if you didn't get it for some reason.

I think the senior memory book and video diary are going to be both fun and funny to look at once fully finished, but at the same time, I feel that it's going to be stressful trying to finish both up so soon, esp 2nd semester.

KatieM1 said...

The memory book sounds like a good idea. I think it will be beneficial in the end but like Mitchell said, it like 2 papers a week. Going along with AP review sessions and stressing over scholarships its a little much. But I guess this nine weeks will just fly by just as fast as the past 3 had so I hope it all will be over before we know it.

hey b-cal! So p.s. I really liked going outside today that was a lot of fun! hehe.. anyways so I think that this project is going to be a lot of fun, but it is just going to take a lot of time to do, and I don't know how I am going to take it, so I'm thinking I'm going to be really stressed! It's just going to be weird reading that much stuff about myself and trying to come up with every thing is going to be pretty hard for me! But anyways, I think it's a great idea and if has worked in the past then it will work here... i'm excited! see ya tomorrow!

Whatever Mr. Caldwell, don't listen to the "negative Nancy's" I and personally thrilled and excited about this project! I think it'll be fun

I think it is creative project to end the year with. I actually think it might be fun... imagine that?! It's an appropriate excuse for me to pull out the old albums. Side note; being the youngest in the family among my siblings my parents got a little lazy by the time the 3rd child rolled around. Let’s just say there wasn’t any scrap booking going on in my album. They used to pretend some of the pictures were of me when I’d ask , but in fact they were my sister haha.

I am really not looking forward to doing this project. First off, the first part of the project lies right during the middle of the show. Second, each one is two pages typed...All I can say is it's a miracle that I haven't just quit class yet.

SamM5 said...

I think this is a great idea, but it will be a ton of work, seeing how the book itself will be at least 20 pages! I think rediscovering my childhood events will be an interesting endeavour, so i look forward to that. I cant wait to be over with Frankenstein!

VirginiaB5 said...

I am really excited about the video project. I have always wanted to make one of these. The memory book sounds fun but its seems like all of this is going to be a lot of work. I am hoping this isn't too stressful. It seems kind of overwhelming right now though.

philipr5 said...

I think the project is way too much work. Two pages per chapter is a lot of work for the fourth nine weeks.

AndersonS6 said...

Well I was completely against the poject and I'm not sure that I'm still not. However, after writing the first story, it really was not that bad. That being said I'm not pumped about doing the most work we've had all year when I want to do no work at all.

Addie said...

Coming back from spring break and having a ton of english work that was completley unexpected especially in the fourth nine weeks of my senior year was not the best. I will admit though the first writing we had to do was not bad but well have to see. The only worry about the video is that it might get a little cheesy (can't think of another word) with quotes from my papers and I don't want to make my parents cry or anything like that. Well see how it goes...

I think that the Senior Memory Book Video Project is a good idea. When we look back on our lives, we will always remeber our senior year in high school and this memory book will help keep those memories alive. I think that the Senior Memory Book will be a real eye-opener for some and for others it will just be another assignment. Either way you look at it, it's something every senior must do...so like it or not suck it up and turn it in.

BrandonW1 said...

We have to write an 18 to 36 book. Not that we are all fourth nine week seniors or anything, but I would be willing to bet less than half of our class will do this. I think some of the prompts are really cheesy and elementary and doesn't sound like a senior english class project.

Interesting comments. Be ready for my response!

I am extremely worried about the project(s), I don't really know if it's one big one or two yet but I know that it's a lot of work either way. Plainly put...I'm scrrd. I thought I was out of the woods when I finished the research paper, but my end of the year finishing slam dunk was swatted by this massive project. That's right I got stuffed and I'm called for a travel. Mrs. C has the ball and I'm about to get owned

I love the senior memory book. I look forward every night to writing a two page minimum (of course I am going to write more) on my childhood. I am going to make the most of this project and cherish it my whole life. I will look back on this 60 page project when I am older and thank Mrs. Caldwell.

I am a little worried, but for random reasons. When I try to remember detailed stories, I cant remember anything. SO, I am worried about what stories I will use, but I am also excited about discovering them. I am a little worried about the video project, becuase it is the type of thing I would spend too much time on and make really complicated.
